Take it step by step...

Take for instance, you've just finished your 5th semester exams and are planning on taking driving lessons. You've not done even a single project in your past holidays, you have no part-time work references, you have no extra curricular activities to keep you occupied. Its just family, friends and food keeping you awake. I'm talking of a simple lazy engineer who shares a similar lifestyle. What does such a person do when faced with the Ultimate question : ''So, what do you plan to do after you get a degree?''. Simple, he has two options: One, he thinks about it for sometime, and then postpones his planning for the next time the question pops up; Two, he panics... Poor guy doesn't know what to do, all of a sudden he's been hit by a hard brick wall called reality. He has no clue, he's lost.

For the former case, I'd say 'Open Your Eyes!', you've got to get serious and start thinking about your future. You don't expect the neighbors to do it for you! Its your life, plan it well...
For the latter case, well, its not too late. In fact, you're just in time! At least you've realized you need to start building your career. That doesn't mean you stress yourself day and night, burn the midnight oil and keep searching till you find the right path. No, that's just you being too hard on yourself. At this time, strategic thinking and planning is more acknowledged that a rush of impulsive decisions. So, what if you've not done anything yet? There are plenty of fish to catch in the sea. Opportunities can be found and used to a good deal of advantage. You have another year and a half to complete your degree. For now, start planning
step by step...
Every organization runs on a set of rules and procedures. Our life is no different. Your first step is to decide on what you want to do - do you want to work, or study abroad, or study here?... etc, etc. Stop right there. Once you're sure, go ahead, plan the next step - how you want to do it? Then follows - Where you want to do it and what do you plan to do next. All this has to be discussed and finalized only once you're sure. Financially too, it must be feasible. This is a major aspect that cannot and must not be overlooked. If you're still in doubt, go ahead, consult different people who have pursued and succeeded in what you are interested, visit different institutions, google your work of interest and find out as much information you can. This much of effort should gear you up for a bright and well planned future.
Once you know what you want to do, start preparing from now itself. You're still very young and have immense potential. Do not be scared of venturing out. Also, you must learn the art of multi-tasking. Its the most effective way of getting things done. As the wise always say, don't be scared of failures. They happen so that you can learn from it and rise as a better person. Whatever that helps you in achieving your goals, do not be afraid to try it. Commitment is a good trait, it gives rise to growth within a person. These are a few ideals one must try and follow, and supreme to all of them, that will take you to the top, is to have faith, self-confidence and complete trust in yourself. Only you know what you can achieve. Build on it!
Well, try this out... I'd guarantee a 99.9% success rate!
For the youth of today, I wish you all the very best in your endeavors. I hope to have untied a few knots... Know that, come what may, I believe in you! Its out there, GO GET IT!!!
